Refresher Course
If your current qualification is still in date (or within 3 months of its expiry date), you can complete a one day refresher course to renew your qualification for 3 more years. The refresher course consists of a Safety Awareness recap followed by a full Practical Module.
You must do a Practical Module that you already hold.
E.g. You currently have Safety Awareness and Drain & Sewer Cleaning - you cannot do the Surface Preparation Practical Module as a refresher course.

Safety Awareness
If you have not previously completed WJA Training, or if your qualification has expired by more than 3 months, you must sit the WJA Safety Awareness Course.
This classroom-based theory course covers all of the essential knowledge required for the safe operation of High Pressure and Ultra High Pressure (UHP) water jetting equipment.
Delivered in a friendly, interactive and easy to understand way, combining discussion, digital media & examination of equipment - giving candidates plenty of opportunity to ask questions and explore the subject in greater detail.
Using the innovative Clikapad system, we have removed the stress of a traditional, pen & paper "Formal" test, replaced with interactive multiple choice questioning throughout the course.
Candidates will come away with a greater understanding of the equipment, its safe operation and the importance of regular maintenance and inspection.
Subjects covered include:
-
Physics principles of high pressure systems
-
Hazards and Risk Controls
-
Risk Assessments & Method Statements
-
Health & Safety Legislation
-
PPE/RPE Requirements
-
Pump Principles, Operation, Inspection & Maintenance
-
Safe Working Practices and Procedures
Every candidate will receive a copy of the relevant WJA Code of Practice, along with a Quick Reference Guide, Medical Card and Leptospirosis Information Card.
All successful candidates will be added to the WJA International Database and issued with a certificate and WJA Photocard with details of their qualifications.
The Safety Awareness qualification is valid for a period of 3 years, after which a refresher course is required.
This course suitable to be taken as a stand-alone course for people, such as managers & health & safety staff, who will not be directly operating equipment, in which case a NON-OPERATIONAL card/certificate will be issued.
In order to receive an OPERATIONAL qualification,
