Training
"We do not rise to the level of our expectations, we fall to the level of our training."
- Archilochus, Greek Poet & Soldier, circa 650 BC
As you can see from the quote above, training has been acknowledged as a fundamental requirement to achieve success since ancient times - you could argue that it takes on even more importance in the complex, technological world we live in today.
"But it's only water!"
Whether a common, garden variety 2000psi pressure washer or a large 40,000psi unit, a small mistake can rapidly escalate to have serious, long term consequences.

CAUTION!

Pressures as low as 100psi can penetrate the skin!
Appreciation of this fact, understanding the task and having respect for the equipment being used is key to ensuring operators gain and maintain competency.

What are the benefits of training?
Reduces Workplace Incidents & Injuries
Health and safety training can help employees understand the importance of safe work practices and how to identify and prevent potential hazards. This can reduce the risk of injuries, illnesses, fatalities, and property damage in the workplace.
Increases Productivity & Morale
Health and safety training can help employees feel more confident, competent, and motivated in their work. It can also improve the quality of work and reduce errors, waste, and downtime. A healthy and safe work environment can boost employee's capabilities, satisfaction, engagement, and loyalty.
Legal Compliance
In the UK, training is required by law, with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 requiring the employer to provide adequate training for employees to ensure health and safety procedures are understood and adhered to, along with suitable provision of relevant information, instruction and supervision.
This is reinforced in the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999, which state that employers have a duty to provide adequate and proportional health and safety training for employees.
It can also help you avoid fines, penalties, lawsuits and reputational damage that may result from non-compliance or negligence.
Saving Costs
Health and safety training can help employers avoid the financial costs of accidents and occupational ill health. These costs may include medical expenses, compensation claims, insurance premiums, legal fees, lost production, damaged equipment, and increased absenteeism and turnover.
